Sword of Heaven : Heal the Body of the Mother Earth

 A long ceremony carried 108 parts of a sacred sword from its 800 year old altar inside a Shinto Shrine. We are documenting that historic story and will publish it online sometime soon.

14 June the man who was the feet and hands and indomitable translater of this story, Tagami (Kazz) Konron passed away. His family has posted a Shinto funeral and followed the traditions of their large family to bring him to Rest and established several Monuments to his passing spirit.

I am doing the same here on Pantelleria. We honored his 100 days, his funeral and his passing life with drumming, ceremonial fires, and sacred passing songs. We have also set up a growing monument to Tagami, a wooden post, a stone, and several hand.made carvings to be made a ceremonial bundle:

This object was made for the ceremony of Tagami's Life. It is not for sale. Pipestone is a unique stone found in a small region of Minnesota. It has a long history of being used for ceremonial objects. I quarried this stone myself way back around 1984, I quarried, with a permit, about 600 pounds of it. I have carved it very slowly, always by hand. No power tools. I still have about 100 pounds of it.

The design is very personal and not for the public to know. It is about Fire, about Corn, about Wings, and about the iChing and Dragons, all arriving together at this stone at this time.

Our dear friend passed away at his Altar, dressed and sitting at prayers in the Shinto tradition. way up a mountain, deep in a forest, in a house he made with his own two hands.

This other photo is the Memory Post, a very ancient old wood object scanvanged from the Mediterranean Sea decades ago and now become the Root of this memorial. The Post will stand at the ceremonial sacred fire we have maintained here for 20 years.

The Great Ceremony we all made together, over 30 years was such an amazing event. Konron Tagami was all magic, in a tight package, living both a regular human life and a supernatural life with profoundly potent spiritual forces (Kami).

We shall never see his like again.
